52+: I’d appreciate your input

Hello again!

I hope this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. I hope you’re still finding ways to be creative and have fun.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I’m taking a breather from blogging to mull over what to do next with 52Nudges. Among the suggestions: podcasts, another year of nudges, a book. I’m exploring these and other ideas (and I’m open to new ideas), so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, I’d love to get your input. Sometime this week, would you take a look at the old posts and let me know in the Comments here what have been some of your favorite Nudges?

  • Was there one that you found especially inspiring, motivating, or funny?
  • Was there one that changed how you perceive or do things?
  • Was there one that had a wonderfully surprising “Ah-hah” for you?

We did two full rounds of 52, so you have lots to choose from.

Thank you in advance. xoKathleen

    Kathleen,

I have loved so many of the 52 Nudges, it’s hard to choose!! I always appreciated the photos you included in the “after” as well as your internal dialogue/musings on how you got through each Nudge.

I loved the Fairy Deed one and the buy two bouquets of flowers, because they were so easy to do but so very life-affirming.

I loved the dress up one, where you end up being “just me” at the end, and are peaceful, loving and accepting of yourself.

I loved “treat your feet” and the “craft organizing” ones. I got such a kick out of the ignore your laundry Nudge — great humor in that one!

Baking cookies and keeping a gratitude journal are things I already do, so those weeks were my weeks off.

Lastly, I always read with interest when you featured other ppl, but really preferred YOU.

I liked “pick up the phone”. In this time of texting and PM and email, we have sometimes lost the human connection of live voice. My boyfriend and I will be commiserating over someone not “getting” the message in a text and we’ll finally laugh and say ‘just call her’. It works the other way too – I see who is calling, think I don’t have time for a quick conversation, but am choosing more and more to ‘pick up the phone’. Thanks. All the nudges are great!

I loved getting the nudge every week. Please keep it up! Some of my favorites were the “treat the feet”, “fairy delivery” and “phone a friend”. Your photos of organizing (before and after) would make me smile because we can all relate. Your ability to take such a simple idea (like clean out the underwear drawer) and make it real and funny is amazing. I vote that you keep it going….please!

Thank you, Marianne! I hadn’t thought about the flip side of “pick up the phone”, and I hope to remember this the next time I receive a call. Excellent idea! — KW
